A lot of people consider me a Jew by choice in some way or another.
Ideally, I should have had a choice of being Jewish or ‘the other religion,’ whatever that was.
Of course, this is based on the assumption that each of my parents had one unique religion that they affiliated with.
My situation? Only my mom was tied to an organized religion called Judaism. My other choice was to be ‘secular,’ much like the average American kid born of two Jewish parents. I guess it’s not so different after all.
